Disney filed last week for two permits related to the pending Disney Vacation Club expansion at the Disneyland Resort. The first is a demolition permit for the Grand Californian Hotel to "remove architectural overhangs and portion of roof sections to prepare structure for new addition." The second permit is for a remodel of the sales model unit located between the Paradise Pier and Disneyland hotels.

Wed, August 8, 2007 - 3:33 PMI'll be interested to see how this all pans out - the city of Anaheim appears willing to go to the mat to buck Disney on this one, and are doing a fair amount of wrangling to nullify Disney's maneuvering to shut the project down.
Disney's in a delicate place. The city wants the low income housing and retail spaces, Disney doesn't want said project butting up to their plans, but they can't push too hard if they want that oft-mentioned third park down the road in the strawberry field...
